亚洲 & Pacific Islander 毕业 Celebration
一年一度的亚洲 & Pacific Islander (API) 毕业 Celebration serves as a platform to recognize recent graduates for their academic and personal achievements at California State University, Dominguez山. This event provides an opportunity for engagement within the 基督教社会联盟DH 亚洲 & Pacific Islander and Southwest 亚洲 North Africans (SWANA) communities. It facilitates connections with support systems, allows the sharing of common experiences, fosters a sense of belonging and pride. The API 毕业 Celebration is inclusive, welcoming all graduating students, regardless of their ethnicity. During the API 毕业 Celebration, two awards are presented to members of the 基督教社会联盟DH 社区 who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and service to the 亚洲 & Pacific Islander (API) 社区 throughout their time at the university. 唐纳德·T. Hata “Poised to Prevail” Award is presented to a member of the 基督教社会联盟DH faculty, 政府, 工作人员, 或校友, the Journey to Success student award honors an exceptional graduating 基督教社会联盟DH student.

Douglass-Bethune Africana 毕业 Celebration

Latine 毕业 Celebration
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Latine 毕业 Celebration, which is designed to celebrate and honor the perseverance of graduating students from 基督教社会联盟 Dominguez山. Our cultural celebration highlights 家庭, 社区, the shared struggles across communities of color. This celebration seeks to uplift and create visibility for historically minoritized groups from North, 中央, 和南美洲, 加勒比海, the greater African Diaspora. We celebrate the diversity of our communities by providing a bilingual program in Spanish and English. 也, participating students receive a spiritual blessing to send them off to their new careers and journey. 在亲密的环境中, participating students can provide personalized acknowledgements to loved ones highlighting their support throughout their academic careers. 整体, the celebration showcases cultural performances and distinguished guest speakers that our graduates can identify with, sharing common experiences and personal stories. The LGC is open to all undergraduate and graduate students.

Lavender 毕业 Celebration
The Lavender 毕业 Celebration honors the academic achievements and personal resilience of all graduating LGBTQIA+ students. Though each student’s journey may be unique, the social and academic barriers they share can make it difficult to accomplish such a meaningful success. This ceremony showcases their brilliance, fosters a deeper connection with the 社区, empowers them to believe in who they authentically are at every stage of their promising futures.

UndocuGrad庆祝
The UndocuGrad Celebration aims at recognizing the personal and academic achievements of students who have been systematically impacted by our immigration system and who despite the additional barriers they faced, they are graduating from California State University, Dominguez山. A re搜索 study from the University of California, Los Angeles showed that out of 100 undocumented students that start high school, only 34 of them will obtain their high school diploma, only 3-4 will receive their bachelors, .8-1 will get a graduate degree, roughly .09 - .1 will obtain a doctorate degree (Perez, 2014). The UndocuGrad Celebration wants to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of undocumented, 移民, 混血学生.
